This is a website produced by a lady called Elena who lives in Ukraine and travels into the Chernobyl "Dead Zone" on her motorbike. It contains a lot of description and photographs of the area - there are 20+ chapters - all links are right at the bottom of the pages

An interesting article in the Guardian which includes maps of areas in the UK where livestock remains subject to movement restrictions following the Chernobyl accident. The article gives an example of sheep grazing on higher ground in North Wales which can still fail radiation checks.

The Ukrainian government has opened Chernobyl to visitors for the first time since the explosion at the nuclear power plant 25 years ago. Radiation spread across Europe and western Russia and to this day, it is still the world's deadliest nuclear accident, as described in this BBC report.
