Hosting involves welcoming two children into your home, caring for them as if they were your own, and providing them with nourishing food. You would be giving them an unforgettable holiday, as well as benefiting their health.
Life here in the UK is nothing like the children’s lives back home in Belarus. There is no need to over-indulge or spoil them. Allowing them to enjoy the comforts of your home, and to join with the rest of the group for the organised trips makes for a very special time for these children. It will be the first time they have been abroad and there will be many new experiences for them.
All the children travelling to the UK with Chernobyl Childrens Lifeline are selected because their parents cannot afford to send them away for respite from the contamination. It really does offer them the chance of a lifetime.
The children take great memories home with them. When Link members have visited children in Belarus after their return home, often their most treasured possession is the photo album recording their holiday. Letters received from the children’s families show how much they value the positive effect the visit has had on the health of their children.
